Nigeria Maritime University (NMU) Academic Calendar

The Nigeria Maritime University (NMU) has released the updated academic calendar for the 2024/2025 session.

This announcement follows the University Senate’s meeting held on Thursday, 17th October 2024.

All students and staff are expected to follow the schedule outlined below.

Key Dates for NMU 2024/2025 Academic Calendar

November 2024

• Monday, 11th November 2024: Online registration portal opens for both fresh and returning students.
• Sunday, 17th November 2024: Fresh students are to resume.
• Monday, 18th November 2024: Clearance begins for fresh students.
• Wednesday, 20th November 2024: Orientation for fresh students.
• Sunday, 24th November 2024: Returning students are to resume.
• Monday, 25th November 2024: Lectures commence for all students.

December 2024 – January 2025

• Saturday, 21st December 2024 – Sunday, 5th January 2025: Christmas break.
• Monday, 6th January 2025: Lectures resume after the break.

February 2025

• Friday, 7th February 2025: Online registration closes for all students.
• Saturday, 8th February 2025: Matriculation ceremony.

March 2025

• Monday, 3rd March 2025: First semester lectures end.
• Monday, 3rd March – Sunday, 9th March 2025: Revision week.
• Monday, 10th March 2025: First semester examination begins.
• Saturday, 22nd March 2025: First semester examination ends.
• Sunday, 23rd March – Saturday, 5th April 2025: Semester break.

April 2025

• Monday, 6th April 2025: Resumption for the second semester.
• Monday, 7th April 2025: Second semester lectures begin.

July 2025

• Saturday, 12th July 2025: Second semester lectures end.
• Monday, 14th July – Friday, 18th July 2025: Revision period.

August 2025

• Monday, 21st July 2025: Second semester examinations begin.
• Saturday, 2nd August 2025: Second semester examinations end.
• Sunday, 3rd August 2025: Students go on holiday.

Convocation Ceremony

• Saturday, 10th May 2025: The University will hold its convocation ceremony.
