Applications are invited from eligible candidates to join the Basic Midwifery programme at CONSA.

Admission Requirements

To qualify, you need:

  • At least five credits in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
  • These credits must be obtained in no more than two sittings from WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB.
  • A combination of WAEC/WAEC, NECO/NECO, or WAEC/NECO results is accepted.
  • NABTEB results cannot be combined with WAEC, NECO, or another NABTEB result.
  • All required credits must be present in the NABTEB result if used.

Additional requirements include:

  • The original WAEC, NECO or NABTEB Certificate or a computer printout.
  • Awaiting results are not accepted.
  • A testimonial from the school where you obtained your WAEC/NECO.
  • A birth certificate from the National Population Commission, a Government Hospital, or a Declaration of Age from the Court.
  • An active and functional personal email.

How to Apply

To apply, follow these steps:

  1. Pay a non-refundable fee of N15,500 into the school’s bank account:
    • Bank: Uzondu Microfinance Bank
    • Account Name: College of Nursing Sciences, Adazi-Nnukwu
    • Account Number: 1100635153
  2. Ensure that the payment is made in the candidate’s name.
  3. Indicate the programme you are applying for (e.g. Basic Midwifery).
  4. Payment can be made via bank, bank app, or POS machine.
  5. If paying via bank app or POS, write the candidate’s name and the programme in the narration/remark section.
  6. Upload your bank teller or transaction receipt as proof of payment.
  7. Bring the proof of payment to the examination hall.

Training and Fellowship Timeline

Selected applicants must complete a five-week online training before being admitted as writing fellows.

  • Training period: 23 May 2025 – 20 June 2025.
  • Fellowship period: 11 July 2025 – 14 July 2026.

Only top candidates from the training will proceed to the fellowship stage.

Eligibility and Guidelines

  • Applicants must be male undergraduate students in Nigerian universities.

  • The entrant’s name and school must not appear in the document. This information will be collected through the submission form.
  • The essay must include a title and word count.
  • Plagiarised essays will be disqualified.
  • Entries must be submitted via the official submission link.
  • The top 10 essays will be shortlisted, and selected participants will be invited to a conference.
  • The top 3 essays will receive cash prizes.
  • The top 5 entrants will get consolation prizes.
