The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has begun the registration and screening process for all newly admitted UTME and Direct Entry candidates for the 2024/2025 academic session.

The exercise will run from Monday, 2nd December 2024, to Friday, 20th December 2024, and Monday, 6th January 2025, to Friday, 31st January 2025.

Candidates must adhere to the outlined procedures to ensure smooth registration.

Stage 1: Booking a Registration Appointment

Candidates offered admission must schedule a registration appointment.

  • Visit the UNILAG Student Portal.
  • Log in using your JAMB Number or Application Number as your username and your surname in lowercase as your password.
  • Change the default password after logging in.
  • Click on “Appointment” in the menu bar.
  • Select “New Appointment.”
  • Choose the appropriate appointment option for your faculty.
  • Pick a date and session for the appointment.
  • Click “Schedule Appointment” and print the booking slip.

The appointment slip must be presented at the registration venue.

Stage 2: Uploading Required Documents

Candidates must upload the necessary documents before proceeding to the screening venue.

  • Log in to the UNILAG Student Portal using the credentials provided in Stage 1.
  • Fill out the bio-data form and print the screening form.
  • Upload the following documents (original copies):
    • JAMB Admission Letter.
    • O’Level Result.
    • Testimonial from the secondary school attended.
    • Previous degree certificate (Direct Entry only).
    • Birth certificate.
    • Letter of reference addressed to the Registrar, University of Lagos.
    • State of Origin Certificate.

Stage 3: Screening

Candidates must attend the screening at the scheduled date and time.

  • Submit two copies of each of the following documents:
    • Screening form from Stage 2.
    • UNILAG online application form (Direct Entry only).
    • JAMB acknowledgment slip (Direct Entry only).
    • JAMB admission letter.
    • UTME result slip (not applicable for Direct Entry candidates).
    • Post-UTME result slip.
    • JUPEB, A-Level, OND, HND, or BSc result slip (Direct Entry only).
    • O’Level result certificate (WAEC or NECO; online printouts are not accepted).
    • Letter of reference on official letterhead with NBA seal (for lawyers).
    • Birth certificate.
    • Testimonial from secondary school attended.
    • State of Origin Certificate matching the one used for JAMB registration.
    • Twelve passport photographs with full names written on the back.

Candidates must present the original copies of all submitted credentials for verification.

Stage 4: Payment of Fees

After completing Stage 3, candidates must generate a payment advice 24 hours later.

Payments can be made at any bank using the generated advice.

Stage 5: Faculty and Departmental Registration

Candidates must visit their respective faculties and departments to complete further registration processes.

Important Notices

Impersonation during the registration process will lead to forfeiture of admission and may involve legal action.

The university enforces zero tolerance for drug use, with mandatory drug tests conducted for all newly admitted students.

Students who test positive or fail to undergo the test will have their admission withdrawn.

Dates for matriculation and orientation programmes will be announced by the university.

NDA Admission Application Form for 77th Regular Course 2025

The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) has started accepting applications for the 77 Regular Course. This is open to both male and female Nigerians who meet the eligibility criteria.

Admission Requirements

To apply for the NDA 77 Regular Course, candidates must:

  • Be medically and physically fit with good moral character.
  • Be single, without any legal obligation to support a child or dependents.
  • Present a Certificate of Indigeneship from the state or local government.
  • Be at least 17 years old and not more than 21 years old by August 2025.
  • Have at least five O-level credits, including English and Mathematics, in GCE, WAEC, NECO, NBAIS, or NABTEB in not more than two sittings.
  • Have passed UTME and met the national standard set by JAMB.
  • Be at least 1.68 meters tall (male) or 1.65 meters tall (female).
  • Knowledge of French, Arabic, or Mandarin is an advantage.

Screening Test Conditions

Only candidates who meet the admission criteria and have a UTME score of:

  • 180 or above for Arts, Social Sciences, and Sciences.
  • 210 or above for Engineering courses.

Those who qualify will be able to print their Screening Test Admission Card and take part in the screening test at their chosen centre.

Screening Test Date and Requirements

The screening test will be the first phase of post-UTME screening and will take place on Saturday, 24 May 2025.

Candidates must bring:

  • Acknowledgement Form.
  • Screening Test Admission Card.
  • JAMB result slip.
  • Two passport-sized photographs (3.5 x 5 inches).

The photographs should show the candidate’s face and shoulders and must have the following written on the back:

  • Name.
  • Exam number.
  • State.
  • Exam centre.
  • Course of study.
  • Signature.

Only those who pass this screening will proceed to the next stage, which is the Armed Forces Selection Board. The final list of successful candidates will be published later.

Training and Duration

Successful candidates will undergo military and academic training at the NDA for five years. Upon completion, cadets will earn a degree (BSc, BEng, or BA) and be commissioned into the Nigerian Armed Forces.

How to Apply

The online application for NDA 77 Regular Course is open from Wednesday, 6 November 2024, to 30 April 2025.

To apply:

  1. Visit the NDA application portal.
  2. Select “Purchase Access Code” and enter details.
  3. Pay ₦3,500 via REMITA using the generated ORDER ID and RRR code.
  4. Complete the online application form.

Only payments made through RRR codes generated on the portal will be accepted.

Candidates must also apply to JAMB 2025 and select NDA as their first choice. They must sit for the UTME exam and meet the required cut-off score.

Important Notes

  • Applications without O-level results will be rejected.
  • Awaiting results are not accepted.
  • O-level results must not be older than five years.
  • Admission is strictly for Nigerians (male and female).

Submission of Applications

Completed applications must be submitted online with scanned SSCE results. Once submitted, candidates should download the Acknowledgement Form.

Administration and Costs

All training, logistics, and administration costs for Regular Course cadets are covered by the Federal Government of Nigeria.

Cadets are full-time students and not employees. They cannot claim employment rights if they withdraw or are dismissed before commissioning as officers.

JAMB Suspends Law Admission in Eight Universities

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has stopped Law admissions at eight universities for the 2025/2026 academic session. The suspension comes after the Council of Legal Education (CLE) withdrew approval for the Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) programme at these institutions.
